Journey to the West 西游记
The Journey to the West is one of China's four classic novels. It tells how Master Xuanzang, together with his disciples Monkey King, Pig and Sandy, overcame 81 hardships on their way to Western Heaven in search of Buddhist texts.
This book is an abridged version of the novel and contains 37 stories, each about 1500 characters long or shorter. All stories are limited to the 2500 characters required for HSK level 5. By reading the classics, Chinese learners can further improve their reading skills and gain a better understanding of Chinese culture. In this book, each story is annotated with pinyin.
