Outlaws of the Marsh 水浒传
One of the four classic novels of ancient China, Outlaws of the Marsh tells the story of the last days of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). 108 formidable heroes take refuge on Mount Liangshan and become chivalrous bandits, often destroying evildoers and helping those in need.
This book is an abridged version of the novel and contains 36 stories, each about 1500 characters long or shorter. All stories are limited to the 2500 characters required for HSK level 5. By reading the classics, Chinese language learners can further improve their reading skills and gain a better understanding of Chinese culture. In this book, each story is annotated with pinyin. An "invisible pinyin map" is included so that readers who wish to read the stories without reference to pinyin can cover it up.
